It looked like this week would be quiet, but then an explosion of stories hit at the last minute. We start with a large round of layoffs, this time at Cox. Then, the sale of the two stations serving as Montreal rimshots is about to close, leading to a format move of one of the brands. Also, a small station in western New York has been sold. What will happen to it? Then, it's the usual round of format changes. This week, that includes iHeart completing its shuffle of stations in Panama City, a shift from mostly to completely national sports programming in Miami, and Townsquare trying country for the fourth time on a signal in Iowa, leading to iHeart filling a hole. That, and Cox has made a change in Miami, and Univision is making a change in Houston.
