We open by discussing major cuts at Univision. How will these cuts affect the company's radio properties? There are more developments regarding the merger between Sinclair and Tribune. As of now, no one seems happy about where it's going. Even the top FCC commissioner is expressing some very serious concerns. This leads to a bigger discussion abut whether or not the public truly cares abut big media mergers. A station sale in Milwaukee to tell you about. Could more Sports radio be coming to that market? Later, no new LPFM coming to Springfield, Illinois. Stevens Media makes changes to its cluster near Pasco, Washington. Salem is selling stations in Omaha to Walnut Radio. In Tucson, a Christian radio operator is selling several stations to various companies. A new Urban station is coming to Little Rock with a truly local twist.

A Wisconsin college station changes its name to attract more community listenership. This leads to a broader discussion about college radio in general. The predicted format change in NYC did indeed take place at WNEW. One more sell off to report in Memphis, and it will stay in local hands. An Indiana station drops Fox Sports for Conservative Talk. Entravision makes more changes to Spanish radio in Southern California, including Spanish Classic Rock! We review and discuss a unique community radio station in New York's Hudson Valley region. As this battle heats up, what solutions could there be to ease tensions and ensure that LPFM and AM to FM translators can peacefully co-exist? We have format changes to talk about including an expansion of  Big Foot Country in the Twin Tiers, and a possible format change or tweak on the New York City radio dial. A Sports station goes Classic Hits in Everett, Washington. A minor rebranding in Fairmont, Minnesota, and a station goes from Classic Rock to Classic Hits. On this week's program, a well known radio station in rural New York is being sold. Will it stay local? Most folks on the message boards say no. Why is this? Then, a major station sale in Tulsa, as a TV company gets back into radio there. Then, we tell you about developments at JAM Media, as they purchase stations in Iowa and North Carolina. Will the new company ditch Triple A and Deep Album Rock stations for something more profitable? We have plenty of format changes taking place including a switch from Conservative Talk to Classic Hits in Sarasota, and Classic Hip Hop evolves into Rhythmic CHR in Denver. So yet another station abandoning the format. Saga's Pure Oldies comes to Spencer, Iowa. A real "blast" has come to Wichita with a wide mix of party favorites. Some CHR developments, including in Bristol, Virginia and San Angelo, Texas. A religious station in Washington, DC has been sold, but will most likely stay in tact. Finally, an interesting observation about an analog TV station still on the air in rural Ontario. That's all on this edition of Clearing the Static.
