Clearing the Static 1803

We open this week with discussion of big changes at a cluster of public radio stations in North Carolina, including the decision to ditch local Classical music hosts in favor of satellite delivered programming. Does this help public radio's claim to be better than commercial radio? We think not! Then, a popular Spanish language music format disappears completely from all of its outlets out West, and no one seems ot know why. There's a new Chinese language radio station coming to "Los Angeles". Town Square Media is making changes to several of its Rock radio stations, to make room for a new syndicated morning show. An all Blues station comes to Jackson, Mississippi. Finally, we discusss the fall out of NBC's decision to utter the word shithole during its newscast. Will the FCC take action over this? We discuss and debate. That's all here on this edition of CTS.
