Special War of the Worlds Marathon Radio Broadcast

This is a co-production between Jake Longwell and Serena "The Radio Kid" Hanlon. In this special six hour marathon broadcast, we pay tribute to the legendary War of the Worlds radio broadcast of 1938, and its legacy. You will hear the full original broadcast, plus several subsequent presentations inspired by the broadcast, and the mass panic that resulted from it. As well as other interesting and exciting audio goodies.

Rundown

Part One
The complete October 30th, 1938 Mercury Theater on the Air adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel War of the Worlds

Part Two
A 1988 Public Radio documentary with interviews with some of the people who were involved with the making of the original broadcast, as well as interviews with several who remembered the resulting hysteria.

Part Three
The audio soundtrack of the 1975 made for TV movie The Night That Panicked America, dramatizing the making of the original broadcast, and the mass panic that resulted. All copyrights acknowledged.

Part Four
An episode of the sci-fi radio drama series Alien Worlds entitled The Kilohertz War. This story is set in the far off future, where the 1938 broadcast has unintended, tragic consequences on the planet Mars.

Part Five
The complete October 1968 re-creation of War of the Worlds as produced and broadcast by legendary top 40 radio station WKBW in Buffalo, New York.

Part Six
The complete audio soundtrack of a public TV documentary called The Making of WKBW's War of the Worlds, hosted by Bob Koshinski. Bob interviews four of the persons involved with the iconic 1968 broadcast, and offers insight into the mass hysteria that this broadcast created in and around the Buffalo area. This program aired on WNED-TV in Buffalo in October 1998

Each feature is surrounded by commentary, analysis, and personal recollections from Jake and Serena about the whole War of the Worlds legend.
