Clearing the Static 2522
It's another addition of the radio show that talks about radio this week, and the main topic seems to be station closings, as there were at least four this week. Before we get there, we talk about a station launching on HD3, which leads to a side discussion about who listens to HD channels. Later, it's the usual roundup of format changes from the last 10 days or so.
Clearing the Static 2521
We thought we would have time to fill this week, but we get to most of the things with a few left over.
The story we both have the most to say about is Delilah shutting down her station on the Oregon coast.
After
that, it's a new oldies station in Maine, an owner going bankrupt, and a
new station that seems interesting in Arkansas. All that, plus an
update on the Alpha Media sale.
Clearing the Static 2520
It's a quiet week on CTS this week, which leads us to some stories we
failed to mention in our previous shows because no trade actually picked
them up.
Before we get there though, we have lots of changes across
Canada, a country station in Texas dropping local programming, and a
station in Oregon likely going dark. All that and more this week.
Clearing the Static 2519
We get through most of our news this week. We were wrong on one station going Hank, but against our hopes, another one did. Also, there's a new bilingual party in Orlando, a few Christian sales, a new rock station in Nevada, and more this week.
Clearing the Static 2518
It's a very sale-heavy episode this week. Fortunately, we only had to
leave a few stories out this week, we're no longer a week plus behind as
we have been.
Among the highlights, we first discuss the fallout
from Westwood1 eliminating seven of its formats. Later, Jacobs has
launched Classic Hip-Hop in Missoula. That, plus two weeks worth of
station sales, EMF doing some buying, and a station in Colorado is
reserected.
Clearing the Static 2517
It's another addition of the radio show that talks about radio.
We're
still catching up from when we didn't get to everything several weeks
ago, but we're almost there. This week, we start with some station
sales, then round up some format changes, including a revamped rock
station in Alabama, a station returns to its proper frequency in
Florida, and some Spanish language developments in North Carolina.
